Five ways to not celebrate Valentine's Day

February 8th, 2017,

The Day of Love, when one is alone, can be rather bleak. Whereas when one is not alone, it can put on pressure and create expectations; two factors to avoid for the health of the relationship.

Here are five ways to not celebrate Valentine's Day:

  • Make it Self Love Day. Do things that you want to do, for you. Take note that this may apply to each and every day, not only February 14th.
  • Leave the boys aside for the evening, they'll find something to do without you. Gather your girlfriends, dress up the table with our In Vino Veritas Collection or Girls Night In Collection, eat, drink and talk about everything, except Love.
  • And no chocolate! We can eat it all year round, we will not be dictated what to do by the displays at the pharmacy. Think outside the box and go for baklavas, carrot cake or gelato.
  • Dress in comfy clothes. They can be chic comfy, with sexy underwear and high-heel slippers, but do it for you (see item 1).
  • Cut flowers are nice, but they are dying and withering: not exactly the symbol we want for our Self Love. Treat yourself to a plant to which you'll tend each day with Love and care. For the both of you.
